Planit has produced a beautiful poster-booklet set of the Earth Charter using eco-friendly processes, the money from which goes directly back into furthering our work, consistent with our not-for-profit status.

The poster contains the 16 main principles of the Charter and can be hung on walls in homes and offices. It is half an A3 page (two A4 pages placed lengthwise). The booklet contains the complete text of the Charter and is A6, a convenient size for carrying around in your diary or sitting on a coffee table.

Eco-friendly printing processes:

1. The paper 100% post-consumer waste on the CPI Group's "Cyclus" paper. Waste products from their paper-production processes are re-used elsewhere for fertiliser, building materials and heating.
2. The shapes of the posters and handbooks were designed to use a minimal amount of paper. The full sheet of paper was used, leaving no unused off-cuts, and the handbook was printed double-sided and kept small.
3. Local activist and graphic designer Scott Ludlum used digital technology so that plates were not needed in the printing process, which helped cut down on the chemicals needed (for washing the plates that are normally used).
4. The original print-run was the first full-colour print job in Western Australia done entirely with soy-based inks. Our printer is Print-Made-Simple.
5. A potato powder was used in the drying process.
